Hey lovelies!
Although a good
foundation can be expensive, try considering it as an investment. Nowadays
drugstore and high-end foundations also do quite remarkable work, which is up to
your own preference. It is mainly based on what type of skin you have, since
many of us might just buy it whenever someone recommends, without knowing their
skin type. I find that the Bobbi Brown "Skin Foundation
Stick", works best on me. So here are some rules which might help you,
while you’re shopping for foundation:-
1.
Avoid selecting a
foundation that is darker than your skin tone, either go for the perfect match,
or the one that is one shade lighter than your skin tone (and get it to the color
of your skin with the help of a matt bronzer).
2.
Try avoiding a color
decision in artificial sunlight, use natural light (you can even take a photo
in natural light as well for reassurance).
3.
Never buy a pink based
foundation, on a yellow toned skin, or vice versa.
4.
Try testing the
foundation and let it sit on your skin, at least for five minutes, as it may
oxidize with your skin and form a different color.
5.
Prep your face with the
help of a moisturizer, or a primer which can help in downplaying pores and fine
lines. Even look for double duty products such as a primer containing SPF.
6.
Use the right type of
tools for you and your foundation.
7.
Choose the type of
foundation you need according to the coverage that you want.
8.
Try avoid buying
foundation online, unless you are re-ordering.
9.
Try testing the
foundation on your jaw line, and it is between your neck and face.
10.
Your foundation will
look at its best with the help of concealer (to cover up areas that need the
most coverage like, under your eyes or blemishes)and powder over your T-zone
(to keep the foundation in place and prevent the face from being oily)
In the end remember that
you can either go for a drugstore foundation or a high end one, as long as you feel
comfortable in it.
